Explosions, bomb blasts, crumbling houses, debris,
Mangled bodies, relationships that do not last!
Blood, fire, smoke,
Blackened faces and throats ready to choke.
Gas, dust, sulphurous fumes.
Can we flashback time and bodies exhume?
Exhaustion, Fatigue, Disillusionment,
What have we achieved and wherein lies our attainment?
Violence, aggression, negative passion,
A downward slide towards regression!
Is this the latest trend, the height of macabre fashion?
Killing of brother by a brother, how can it bring transcendental elation?
Why the hatred, the nihilism, the suppression and cruel oppression?
Destruction, demolition, vandalism, perverted narcissism,
Manifestations of weird, sadistic, corrosive fundamentalism!
Why not usher in a reign of understanding,
tolerance and enhanced universal bonding?
Purge your hearts of all forms of negativity.
Forego your Ego, embrace Humility,
Arrogance can never be your path to Prosperity.
Development and progress go hand in hand.
And if you desire to leave behind – foot prints on the sands
Of Time and Posterity –
Make your daily routine – co-operation, loyalty,
Dedication, Empathy and Sincerity.
So ‘Arise, awake’ to a goal of brotherhood
Welcome the bonds of Amity
For a morrow of Peace and Eternal Spirituality .
