Taking from you a cue,
Decided to pen a response due.
In lighter vein and poetic strain,
Is taxing to my brain!
But have a latent stubborn streak
To which I gave a nudging tweak;
And here goes my refrain –
I write to express,
Impression is never my aim.
My Life narrative, from my perspective,
So, what if it’s diffuse or perhaps defective?
Conscious choice to remain within my comfort zone
And not try to be someone’s clone
Turning sixty —— ooph! Sixty summers of
A tumultuous roller coaster ride
But can say it with pride
Have overcome the ups and downs
Amidst smiles laced with numerous frowns
To some, it might appear a lengthy diatribe or a noisy chatter –
Life wasn’t offered to me on a golden platter.
So, decided to swerve many a writing norm,
When was Life a perfect form?
On Life’s canvas are many hues
From dismal greys to volatile blues –
Pristine white to fiery red
Variety is the spice of life – rightly said.
Six write ups – each unique and with an aura of victory –
Each regaling a different tale, despite the commonality.
Rupa, our scientist friend
Wrote in Hindi and ushered in a new trend
Wow girl , we take a bow
To your daring wanderlust that knows no end.
Shamita’s Happiness potion,
Devika’s loving compassion.
Geetha’s reversed ‘pecking time ‘
Nirmala’s Wordsworthian rhyme!
Shobha’s extraordinary amidst the ordinary
Each an outpouring of Life’s glory.
The end point that radiates through is Gratitude
Sans Ego or fake attitude.
Only some chapters are done
Many more layers to unfold of Tales yet to be told.
Amidst Friends, we dared the heart to bare –
No fear of judgment, but total understanding and empathy
Not indifference or apathy.
If we have touched some chord
With our narration
It is more than sufficient remuneration,
If the Flock we could regale
With our “Turning 60” tale.
Cheers to Friendship and a Happy Life
Minus Problems, or any form of strife!
